Dr Desmond Fang is an Australian doctor, undertaking his studies at The University of Melbourne, embarking hospital and GP training across metropolitan and rural placements before obtaining his RACGP fellowship in 2024.
Desmond’s ethos is that as your GP, he is your specialist in life. He is the architect that provides you the blueprint for your physical and psychological health, and that collaborates with your specialists and allied health providers to create the best plan going forward. He is the trusted advisor backs you when life gets tough and advocates for you as you navigate the increasingly complex health system. He is the jack-of-all-trades practitioner that can do minor procedures, infusions and injections.
Desmond’s patients report that his strengths are his communication, compassion and comprehensive care.
Special interests – chronic invisible illnesses such as POTS, dysautonomia, ME/CFS, MCAS, ADHD/neurodivergence, chronic pain syndromes.
Patients wishing to seek diagnosis/assessment/management of the above syndromes are advised to book a 1 hr consult. Patients are advised to bring previous investigations, imaging reports, specialist correspondence and symptom diaries to facilitate management.

– Sexual Health – PreP/STI checks, LGBTQIA+ health
– Mental Health – ADHD, neurodivergence, insomnia, anxiety, depression
– Mens Health – hair loss, erectile dysfunction, weight management
– Womens Health – contraception, menstrual management, menopause
– Pregnancy care – planned (preconception counselling) and unplanned (mTOP)
– Musculoskeletal health – chronic neck, back, joint pains
Procedures:
– Infusions – IV saline infusions (for POTS crisis management), iron infusions, zoledronic acid (osteoporosis)
– Injection therapy – Glucopuncture / Perineural injections for treatment of chronic neck/back pains; Occiptal Nerve Blocks for acute management of cervicogenic headache
– Implanon insertion
– Ear syringing
Areas outside Desmond’s scope:
- Dr Fang does not yet have the training to independently diagnose ADHD/ASD, but is able to prescribe S8 medications if patients have been assessed by a psychiatrist and has a supporting letter
- Dr Fang does not do skin checks or skin cancer removals, but is able to provide an opinion on isolated skin spots and refer onwards as required
- Dr Fang does not perform ear micro-suction, but is able to perform ear washout/syringing
- Dr Fang does not prescribe progesterone or clomifene for fertility purposes
- Dr Fang does not prescribe testosterone or peptides
- Dr Fang cannot insert IUD/Mirena
- Dr Fang cannot perform diving or flying medical assessments
